Mbeki recalled by ANC

It's my sincere hope that this move is in the interest of the entire South African community, not just the ANC movement. However, my fear is that this move has all the earmarks of a political revenge, a pay-back for the way Jacob Zuma was removed from the vice-presidency: the manner in which the ANC has removed Thabo Mbeki mimics the manner in which Mbeki removed Jacob Zuma... Shabir Schaik's sentencing (implicating Zuma); Judge Nicolson judgement (implicating Mbeki)...

What set Mandela apart as a great leader is that when he got into power, he didn't do to the whites what they had done to the blacks. Neither did he banish the National Party, etc. Instead, he showed that power need not be used for revenge but for a constructive co-existence. We could take a leaf from Mandela...

This couldn't be said more truthfully and what I personally think is that the politicians today are more driven by greed and ambition for power. My concern is that if they continue like this, then the ruling party itself is not for the ordinary citizens of this country anymore (as it was initially formed for the people).

When I hear people protesting that the apartheid era was far better than our current democratic state I often dispute the thought. I mean I was very young during apartheid but I always think that there is nothing more beautiful than democracy as it ensures equal rights, but currently I do not think so. Don't get me wrong I am neither anti-Zuma or anti-Mbeki, in fact I couldn't care less what happens to or between the two of them.I am just an ordinary citizen who strongly believes that this country could be better of lead by critical thinkers as opposed to politicians who are hungry for power.
